A candle with paraffin wax leaves petroleum soot on ceiling drywall; our vegetable wax burns flat down to the ceramic base.

Vegetable Soy Wax Scented Candle Tampa

Cedar & Terracotta Workshop Candle 280g burns for 55 hours with zero petroleum soot fallout.

24 USD Single 280g stoneware vessel • candles range 14–36 USD

Most commercial scented candles use slack wax or petroleum paraffin doped with synthetic fragrance booster. When burned indoors, they release airborne toluene, benzene, and heavy black carbon that permanently discolors drywall and HVAC filters. Aromatek pours pure midwest hydrogenated soy wax combined with raw Texas cedarwood heartwood oil directly into refractory unglazed earthenware. The flame burns steady and clean with zero black plume.

Thermal conduction, soy melt pools, and earthenware porosity.

A candle works as an open capillary lamp. When the cotton wick ignites, radiant heat melts the wax beneath it. That liquid wax travels up the braided cotton fibers by capillary action into the combustion zone, where it vaporizes and reacts with oxygen. If the vessel walls are thin glass or cold aluminum, heat escapes rapidly into the room, causing the melt pool to chill around the perimeter. The candle tunnels straight down the center, wasting forty percent of the wax.

We cast our jars in unglazed refractory terracotta with a wall thickness of seven millimeters. Terracotta possesses low thermal conductivity. It absorbs heat from the flame slowly and holds it evenly across the diameter of the jar. This ensures a complete liquid melt pool within ninety minutes of first lighting. The wax liquefies cleanly edge-to-edge, releasing cedarwood terpenes evenly into the living space without wax hang-up.

The single wick is braided from thirty-six plies of pure unbleached organic cotton. We use zero lead cores and zero zinc wire stiffeners. The wick curls naturally as it burns, trimming itself against the flame mantle and maintaining a flame height between twelve and eighteen millimeters.

Workshop Burn Guidelines

First burn memory: Allow the candle to burn continuously for at least three hours upon initial lighting. This establishes a full melt pool to the terracotta walls and prevents central wax tunneling for the remainder of its 55-hour life.

Always trim the charred wick curl to one-quarter inch prior to relighting. Keep the vessel resting on a level, heat-resistant surface away from direct HVAC air currents.

4 stage pouring and curing discipline

Every single candle undergoes a multi-day curing period before release from our Tampa benches.

Step 01

Earthenware Vessel Conditioning

Terracotta cups are heated to 110°F to prevent thermal shock and wick adhesion failure during the wax pour.

Step 02

Soy & Terpene Blending

Midwest hydrogenated soy wax is melted at 165°F, cooled to 145°F, and blended with Texas cedarwood oil for twelve minutes.

Step 03

Controlled Bench Curing

Candles rest in temperature-regulated curing cabinets for ninety-six hours to allow crystalline wax matrix stabilization.

Buyer objections and specific product limitations

Who this is not for: This candle will not deodorize a large 2,000-square-foot open warehouse or neutralise active cigarette smoke from multiple smokers in real time. For large industrial spaces or severe fire damage, use our 5000mg/h Corona Ozone Machine or Cypress Smoke Heavy Candle. The 280g Cedar Terracotta candle is engineered for rooms up to 350 square feet.

Why does the wax surface look slightly frosted or uneven? Pure vegetable soy wax naturally crystallizes as it cools. Paraffin candles look glossy because they are chemical petroleum derivatives. Microscopic frosting on soy wax proves zero petroleum blending.

Can the terracotta jar be repurposed? Yes. Once the candle burns down to the brass wick tab, soften remaining wax with boiling water and wash with soap. The fired clay jar functions as a planter or desk organizer.
